To describe a
person we use the “verb to be: IS” and “the verb to have: HAS”
1. Difference between IS/HAS:
We use IS mainly to talk about general aspects (nationality, job or profession,
age, feelings, personality), height and weight. EX: he is American, he is an
actor, he is 23 years old, he is happy and very active and he is handsome. He
is tall and He is slim.
We use HAS to talk about specific things (body parts or face). EX: he has beautiful big brown eyes, he has long, curly blond hair, etc.
2. Order of your presentation:
First general aspects, using IS
Second specific detail, using HAS
3. To describe someone we need adjectives: tall, fat, thin, short, small, beautiful, etc..
